I have been in and out of the Merchandise Mart many times this year for different events, but I never stopped at the DreamHome exhibit on the first floor. While attending NeoCon, I finally took the time to check it out. The DreamHome is a showcase for the top interior designers of the Chicago area. Visiting it is always such an inspiration, and I hope that someday I will have a chance to design a room for it. These are my favorite parts of it:
The bathroom was designed by Chris Michiels.
The foyer was designed by Laurel Feldman Interiors.
The library was designed by ASI Interiors, Inc.
The Dream Home is open to the public and the hours are Monday-Friday 10 A.M.-5 P.M. and Saturday 10 A.M. - 3 P.M. It is located in the north lobby of the first floor of the Merchandise Mart. $5 suggested donation to benefit The University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation Women's Board. It continues until December 18th, 2009.
Can't make it to Chicago before then? Take a virtual tour.
