Roy Lichtenstein at the Art Institute of Chicago

Have you ever looked at this well-known painting by Roy Lichtenstein and wondered who Brad was? I have. But I finally saw him in this lesser-known piece at the Roy Lichtenstein Retrospective at the Art Institute:

That's the great thing about retrospectives, getting a chance to see an artist's work in the context of their greater oeuvre.  Here are a few more that I liked:

The Lichtenstein exhibit has inspired Pop Art displays around Chicago, from this fun space at Arcadia during NeoCon:

Not to mention the "I Dot Lichtenstein" buttons visitors were encouraged to wear or disperse all over town:

Today is the last day to see the exhibit, so stop by the Art Institute to see it while you still can!  The museum hours are extended so you have until 8 pm to see these amazing paintings before they're gone.

  2. Thanks, Lindsey! Yes, it would be easy to write forever about The Art Institute. There are so many great pieces to see, and I am so glad to live in Chicago so I can visit often.
