Cosmos out of Chaos

This is it, my last painting of 2024. Cosmos out of Chaos was made with paint skins left over from other painting projects I worked on earlier this year, and foil seals from the undersides of new bottles of paint.

The color scheme and repeated circular shapes harken back to Constellation and Exotic Matter. They're also made with leftovers. Making an assemblage with the residue of the year feels fitting for late December. My goal had been to see how many of the things I've started I could finish by the end of the year. At the same time, I don't like to rush myself or force anything. This piece came together naturally. I had everything I needed to complete it. Creating assemblages is like putting a puzzle together, although I don't always know if I have enough of the right pieces.

Cosmos out of Chaos is not for sale yet. I'm planning on holding on to it a little longer because I need it for something I've planned for 2025. But please feel free to let me know if you're interested in it once it's available!
